Will Jews and Christians Go To Hell?
Contrary to the pronouncements of the Muslims, there is no prescription in the Quran about whether Jews or Christians who still stick to their creed after the revelation of the Quran, will go to hell or not be admitted to paradise.
"Surely those who believe; and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever whom believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their reward with their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor will they grieve." (Qur'an 2:62)
The fact that the Qur'an permits marriage to Jews or Christians show how the mentality that condemns them to hell contradicts the Quran. It is to be noted that, similar to the Muslims, not all Jews and Christians have strayed, there are many that are "upright" as God tells us:
"They are not all the same, from the people of the Book are a nation that is upright; they recite the revelations of God during the night hours..." (Qur'an 3:113)
Furthermore, similar to the assumptions made by Muslims that only they will enter heaven, many Jews and Christians also believe that you must subscribe to their "religion" in order to achieve God's blessings in the afterlife. Yet, according to the Qur'an, we are told that you do not have to subscribe to any religion (whether it be Islam, Judaism, or Christianity) in order to enter heaven in the afterlife:
And they say, "None will enter Heaven unless he is a Jew or a Christian." These are their wishes. Say, "Produce your proof, if you are truthful." (Qur'an 2:111)
The Jews say, "The Christians are not based on anything;" and the Christians say, "The Jews are not based on anything." Yet they both read the Scripture. Similarly, the ignorant said the same thing. God will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences. (Qur'an 2:113)
We have revealed the Torah, wherein is guidance and light. The submissive prophets ruled the Jews according to it, so did the rabbis and the scholars, as they were required to protect God's Book, and were witnesses to it. So do not fear people, but fear Me. And do not sell My revelations for a cheap price. Those who do not rule according to what God revealed are the unbelievers. (Qur'an 5:44)
You will find that the people most hostile towards the believers are the Jews and the polytheists. And you will find that the nearest in affection towards the believers are those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not arrogant. (Qur'an 5:82)
To further note, God shuns those that claim that He has a son:
The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of God," and the Christians said, "The Messiah is the son of God." These are their statements, out of their mouths. They emulate the statements of those who blasphemed before. May God assail them! How deceived they are! (Qur'an 9:30)
